Each of us, who trades cryptocurrencies, felt the need to be constantly connected to the Internet. Unfortunately, there is no other way to buy or sell cryptocurrencies. Or is there?
Let’s take a look at what innovation awaited the people of Venezuela.
Startup Cryptobuyer announced the successful launch of the first satellite node for Bitcoin. It was a collaboration between Cryptobuyer, Blockstream and led by Anibal Garrido. This is the very first successful step in ensuring that people can sell or buy Bitcoin and do not need an internet connection.
The idea that you are completely offline, but you can perform the operation in real time, is just another piece to a completely decentralized and anonymous society. We can hope that over time, more satellites will be launched that will allow people around the world to work with cryptocurrencies without the need for a centralized Internet.
How a satellite node works
It’s all about communication. Blockstream maintains the communication between the nodes and the blockchain. Cryptobuyer bought the necessary equipment to receive the signal from the satellite and connection, and Anibal Garrido and his team provided the antennas and possible modifications to the system to make everything work as it should.
It can be daunting. However, this is the very first communication of its kind and we can expect this technology to continue to improve. We can probably expect other projects of this type. This is currently the first one of three antennas, so everything is still in its infancy.
In this case, it is the first step. It is a great progress. The idea of the future, where we will not be connected to the Internet, where one is not anonymous, no matter how hard one tries. A new era of investment in Bitcoin is currently opening for Venezuelan citizens. Now that the Internet is no longer needed for sales and purchases, one of the potential obstacles has been solved.
