Crypto market update
The crypto market cap has reached a new record with BTC and ETH reaching new ATHs. It took Bitcoin less than three weeks to break its own ATH of $67,000 and set a new one at nearly $69,000. Ethereum followed suit and painted a new record as well, while Cardano has gained the most from the larger-cap alts with a 12% surge.

Bitcoin and a new ATH: Today the price of Bitcoin reached a new all-time high, extending a record-breaking run that has brought the whole of the cryptocurrency market close to $3 trillion in value. Notably, on October 11, 38,536,223 distinct Bitcoin addresses held the asset on the network; today, November 9, the number of addresses has increased to 38,899,034, a total of 362,811 new BTC holders, according to CoinMarketCap data.
MasterCard and crypto: Mastercard is partnering with Amber Group, Bitkub, and CoinJar to start supporting credit and debit cards backed by cryptocurrencies in the APAC region.
Robinhood and security breach: Robinhood has suffered yet another incident, as it revealed on Nov 8 that it had experienced a security breach. The data breach occurred on Nov 3, after an “unauthorized third party obtained access to a limited amount of personal information for a portion of our customers.” The team’s post says that the unauthorized party used social engineering to obtain access to certain customer support systems via a customer support employee. Following this, the attacker gained access to the email addresses of five million customers and the full names of two million customers.
Discord and Ethereum: The Discord CEO and founder has teased the community with a tweet including a screenshot of the Discord app with the Ethereum logo and wallet connection relays. With a separate window on the screen, the application also contains a “connect account” tab that already exists in the app. With the possible update, users will be able to connect their Ethereum “accounts” directly from the app.
Reddit and ERC-20 token: In a bid to onboard its 500 million monthly active users into Web 3.0, the American social media platform Reddit is working on converting users’ karma points into Ethereum-based (ERC-20) tokens. The so-called Web 3.0 applications, also referred to as ‘dapps,’ typically run on blockchains, or decentralized networks, where participants get incentivized for their participation.
Solana suprpassed Tether: “Ethereum killer” Solana crypto has surpassed Tether, becoming the biggest stablecoin provider in terms of market capitalization with $75 billion compared to Tether’s $73.8 billion, according to CoinGecko.
